TikTok has launched the perfect tool for those of you looking to create SEO-friendly video content that connects with your audience - it’s called Creator Search Insights.

This will give creators insight into topics people are searching for on TikTok, providing direction on where to focus your content, in a way that will align with audience interests.

How Does It Work?

To access the tool, simply type "Creator Search Insights" in the TikTok search bar and press the view button (you will soon be able to find it directly from the Creator Tools in Settings). 

In this section, you will be able to see popular trends, along with their search popularity.

Topics can then be filtered by category, such as sports and tourism. Or, the ‘For You’ option shows topics specifically related to the type of content that you create.

You can see top keywords and popular search terms in your chosen category. If you have a topic in mind, you can also scroll up to the search bar at the top to see the search popularity for that specific keyword. 

This should give you a good idea of how popular a topic is before you dedicate time to creating the content. 

Top Tip: Watch the highest-ranked videos for your chosen keywords to decide which elements made them successful.

Content Gap Topics

Arguably, filtering for ‘content gap topics’ is the most useful element of the tool. 

When you click on the black ‘For You’ button, it pulls up a submenu that allows you to switch from seeing all content to specifically the content gap. This will bring up topics that are often searched for but aren't featured in a large number of videos on TikTok. 

This provides a great opportunity for brands to create content that is lacking, despite being heavily sought after. Creators who fill these content gaps are in for a good chance of boosting their search rankings.

Creator Rewards Programme

The search value of your content will also play a role in the Creator Rewards Programme. By creating content that aligns with the topics in high demand, you can increase your content's search value.

You can identify the most popular topics based on a popularity score or the Recommended Topic label next to the search term. These topics provide higher chances for engagement and you can reference these labels as they shape your content strategies and guide your creative direction.

Bookmark Ideas for Later

If you look on the right-hand side of each search term you can either click the video camera icon, which allows you to begin filming your video right away. Or, you can click the bookmark icon, which lets you store search terms in your favourites folder.

You can access your favourites at any time, through the bookmark icon in the top right corner.
